APTelecom and Thailand’s National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) marked APTelecom’s appointment to undertake the Thailand-U.S. (THUS) submarine cable feasibility study with a signing ceremony at Submarine Networks World 2026 in Singapore. The USTDA-funded study will assess the commercial, technical, financial and regulatory viability of the proposed trans-Pacific cable system.
The proposed THUS system could extend up to 11,500 miles, connecting Thailand with the United States through as many as five Southeast Asian countries. APTelecom’s work will include route design, economic analysis, commercialisation planning and regulatory review, supporting future investment and development decisions for a system designed to strengthen network resilience, route diversity and regional connectivity.
