APTelecom is collaborating with Google, Amalgamated Telecom Holdings (ATH), and Telstra on the Central Pacific Connect initiative.
This project will introduce two intra-Pacific cables, Bulikula and Halaihai, enhancing digital connectivity in the central Pacific. Bulikula will link Guam with Fiji, while Halaihai will connect Guam with French Polynesia.
The cables aim to foster greater regional interconnectedness and resilience by creating a connectivity ring between Guam, French Polynesia, and Fiji. These cables are set to strengthen Guam’s role as a growing international connectivity gateway.
The Central Pacific Connect initiative aligns with the Pacific Leaders vision for 2050, emphasizing the importance of digital interconnectedness in driving economic transformation across the region.
