Aqua Comms picks APTelecom as channel partner in Asia and the US
Aqua Comms, the submarine cable operator, has appointed APTelecom as its international sales partner as it develops new client markets in Asia and the US.
As a facilities-based telecom consulting and service company that focuses on emerging markets, APTelecom is able to leverage Aqua Comms’ assets of America Europe Connect-1 (AEC-1) and CeltixConnect-1, subsea cables to help extend its reach by supporting its sales activities in these regions.
“We are thrilled to be a part of such an important project in one of the world’s most significant telecom markets, working within the Aqua Comms team to help extend their reach,” said Sean Bergin, president of APTelecom and member of the PTC board of governors. “The demand for data continues to grow and this is especially true of the Atlantic. Given its asset base, Aqua Comms has a unique value proposition and APTelecom is looking forward to supporting their sales activities with a focus on Asia and the US.”
In addition to Aqua Comms’ unique set of portfolio assets, it is also a member of the HAVFRUE consortium, and the development of CeltixConnect-2 and North Sea Connect, bridging the northern Atlantic between North America and Northern Europe.

Aqua Comms and APTelecom have promised further announcements over the coming weeks and months as the project gets fully underway.
Aqua Comms were recently selected by Hurricane Electric for new high-speed connectivity between New York and Dublin. Hurricane Electric has activated one 100 Gigabit waves of capacity on Aqua Comms’ America Europe Connect-1 (AEC-1) subsea cable system. Enabling Hurricane Electric to improve the speed, performance and resiliency of its IP backbone for all of its IP Transit customers.
