IOEMA-1 Holding B.V. has announced a strategic partnership with APTelecom to support the commercial development of the IOEMA-1 subsea cable system, a planned 24 fibre pair, 1,600 km network designed to connect digital hubs across the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
With an expected ready-for-service date of Q1 2029, the project aims to strengthen resilience and increase capacity across critical Northern European routes as demand for cloud, AI, and data centre connectivity continues to grow.
As part of the collaboration, APTelecom will provide support across market strategy, carrier engagement, and commercial development as the project moves into an intensified phase focused on securing anchor customers and advancing toward contracts-in-force status. Recognised as a project of European interest under the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility, IOEMA-1 is intended to support regional connectivity, data sovereignty, and infrastructure diversity across the North Sea region.
