In India, fragmented regulatory processes, limited domestic maintenance capacity, and a lack of spatial diversity in cable landing points created operational inefficiencies and investment barriers. Industry players – including carriers, vendors, hyperscalers, and data center operators – recognized the need for a unified, industry-driven platform to address these bottlenecks and define scalable solutions for trusted and resilient infrastructure growth.

Approach: Hosting the First Industry Led Indo-Pacific Subsea Cable Forum
APTelecom designed and hosted the Wavelength Submarine Cable Forum 2025 as the first industry-led Indo-Pacific convening dedicated to subsea infrastructure. Held in New Delhi, the event gathered more than 85 senior-level participants representing the full value chain – network operators, data center providers, marine maintenance specialists, and technology integrators.
The forum’s agenda focused on five commercial themes:
- Acceleration of maintenance and repair (M&R) readiness through local capacity building
- Expansion of spatially diverse landing sites to strengthen network resilience
- Integration of submarine systems with emerging AI and data center demand
- Operational alignment between subsea, terrestrial, and edge infrastructure
- Private-sector collaboration for scalable investment models
Execution: Driving Practical Outcomes for Submarine Cable Infrastructure and Operations
Serving as convener and technical-commercial facilitator, APTelecom structured targeted discussions and interactive panels to drive practical industry outcomes. Moderated sessions produced alignment on three core initiatives:
- Single-window operational frameworks for faster M&R and landing approvals.
- Development of domestic cable depot and flagged-vessel capability under private-sector leadership
- Interconnection strategies linking submarine assets directly with carrier-neutral data centers and Internet Exchange Points (IXPs).
Through structured dialogue and curated participation from hyperscalers, carriers, and infrastructure investors, APTelecom positioned Wavelength as the region’s principal forum for commercially actionable collaboration.
Outcome: Roadmap for Maintenance Infrastructure and Operational Models
Wavelength India 2025 marked a turning point in industry coordination across the Indo-Pacific subsea ecosystem. The event established a roadmap for localized maintenance infrastructure, streamlined operational models, and enhanced cooperation among private stakeholders.
From an industry standpoint, Wavelength underscored APTelecom’s role as a catalyst for strategic connectivity advancement – bridging commercial, technical, and investment priorities across South and Southeast Asia. Planning is already underway for the 2026 edition, reflecting strong market momentum and continued demand for APTelecom’s leadership in enabling trusted, future-ready digital infrastructure.
